You can use fungi in many ways, spellwork, divination, spirit connection and much more. Here is a short script for invocating the Dryads Saddle to help with your workings, it can be used on its own or as part if a larger ritual. Just do what comes naturally to you.

Set the space: Place a small offering at the base of a tree (a little water, herbs, or grain). If indoors, use a wooden token, image of or a dried piece of Dryad’s Saddle.

Begin with grounding breath.

Touch the earth (or floor) and say:

"I call to the Dryad’s Saddle,

Seat of the woodland spirits,

Ancient guardian of root and bark.

You who rest upon the elder trees,

You who bridge the living and the dead,

Walk with me now upon the hidden path."

Light a candle or place your hand over your heart.

"Teach me endurance,

Teach me rootedness,

Teach me the wisdom of renewal.

As you rise again each spring,

May I too find strength to begin anew."

Pause in silence, listening.

Notice any sensations, thoughts, or images that arise.

Close with gratitude:

"Dryad’s Saddle, spirit of the trees,

I thank you for your presence and your gift.

May our paths entwine in shadow and in light.

So may it be."

You can keep this simple or deepen it with pathwalking: imagining the Dryad’s Saddle as a great carved throne at the base of a tree, where a spirit guide awaits. However you choose to use this invocation don’t forget to leave an offering, my favourite way to do this is to pick up litter when I go out walking.
