Ink has long been a tool of witches, scholars, and mystics. It’s more than just a writing medium—it carries intention, energy, and symbolism. When ink is crafted by hand, from natural sources, it becomes not just pigment but potion. One of the most fascinating sources for ink in witchcraft is the humble mushroom.
Not all mushrooms are safe to handle or consume. While making mushroom ink is usually harmless when done externally, some species can be toxic. Wear gloves when in doubt, and never ingest mushroom inks.
Mushroom ink is a beautiful reminder that magic is alive, wild, and fleeting. To write with it is to write with the spirit of transformation—words that live, breathe, and eventually return to the earth.
